This agreement

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and Teddson (“Teddson”, “we”, “us”), which runs the Teddson website and studio (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

If you use Teddson for a business or another organisation, you confirm you can accept these Terms for it, and “you” includes that organisation.

Who can use Teddson

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract. You may not use Teddson if we have closed your account before for breaking these Terms, or if the law where you live doesn't allow it.

Your account

Give accurate information, keep your password private and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account. You're responsible for what happens in your account. One account is for one person; don't share it or sell it.

Early access and changes to the Service

Teddson is in early access. Features, AI models, limits and availability will change, and some tools may be paused or removed. We work to keep the Service reliable, but we don't promise it will always be available or free of errors.

We don't charge for Teddson at the moment. If we introduce paid plans, we'll publish the prices first and you'll only pay for something you have chosen to buy.

We apply usage limits (for example, how many generations you can start per minute or per hour) to keep the Service fair and secure.

Your content and what you make

Your input is everything you upload or enter: videos, audio, voice samples, photos, links, prompts, scripts and text. Your output is what Teddson makes for you: scripts, voiceovers, cloned voices, images, clips, captions and videos.

Between you and us, you keep any rights you have in your input, and you own your output to the extent the law allows. In some countries content made by AI can't be fully protected by copyright, and other people may get similar output from similar prompts.

You give us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to store, process, copy and transmit your input and output only to run the Service for you: for example, sending your script to an AI provider to record a voiceover, or showing your videos back to you. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in short-lived backups and anything we must keep by law.

We don't use your content to train our own AI models, and we don't sell it.

You must have the rights to what you upload

Only upload content you own or have permission to use. That includes videos you clip with Tclip, links you import, music, images and reference videos. If you clip, repost or remix someone else's video without permission, you may be breaking copyright law, and that is your responsibility.

Stock footage and music that Teddson finds in free libraries (for example Pexels, Pixabay, Openverse, Wikimedia Commons, NASA and the Internet Archive) comes under each source's licence. Some licences require you to credit the creator; Teddson shows these credits on the Render step, and you must keep them where the licence requires.

Voices, faces and real people

Cloning a voice or animating a face can harm real people. So these rules are strict:

  • Only clone a voice, or make a face talk, if it is yours, or you have the person's clear, written permission for that use. Teddson asks you to confirm this each time and records when you did.
  • Keep a copy of that permission. We may ask you to show it, and we may remove the voice or content and suspend the account if you can't.
  • Don't clone or animate public figures, celebrities, politicians, or people who have died, unless you have permission from them or from whoever holds the rights.
  • Never use someone's voice or likeness to deceive people, to make it look like they said or endorsed something they didn't, or to embarrass, harass or sexualise them.
  • Anyone whose voice or face appears in Teddson content without their consent can ask us to remove it (see Complaints and takedowns).

What you must not do

Don't use Teddson to create, upload or share anything that:

  • involves the sexual abuse or exploitation of children in any way. We remove it, close the account and report it to the authorities;
  • shows real people in sexual or intimate content without their consent, or makes such content of anyone using their likeness;
  • impersonates a person or organisation, or is used for fraud, scams, phishing or fake endorsements and reviews;
  • misleads people about elections, voting, public health or emergencies, or presents fabricated events involving real people as real;
  • threatens, harasses, bullies or promotes hatred or violence against people, or supports terrorism or violent extremism;
  • breaks the law or someone else's rights, including copyright, trademark, privacy and image rights.

And don't misuse the Service itself: no attempts to get around security, rate limits or bans; no scanning, probing or attacking our systems; no scraping, reselling or automated access beyond normal use of the website; no reverse engineering except where the law allows it; and no new accounts to get around a suspension.

Labelling AI-made content

Many platforms (for example YouTube, TikTok and Instagram) and some laws, such as the EU AI Act, require realistic AI-generated or AI-altered voices, faces and scenes to be disclosed. When you publish what you make with Teddson, follow the rules of the platform and the place where you publish, and label it where they require.

AI output can be wrong

AI models can make mistakes, invent facts, mishear words or produce something you didn't expect. Research, scripts, transcripts and captions may contain errors. Check output before you publish or rely on it. Nothing Teddson generates is legal, medical, financial or other professional advice.

AI providers and other services

Teddson uses outside AI providers and services to do its work (they are listed in our Privacy Policy). Their own terms and content rules also apply to what you ask them to make, and they may refuse some requests. We aren't responsible for outside websites or services that Teddson links to.

Complaints and takedowns

If you believe something made or shared with Teddson infringes your copyright, uses your voice or face without consent, or breaks these Terms, email you@yourdomain.com with: who you are and how to reach you; what the content is and where it is; why it is unlawful or against these Terms (for copyright, which work it copies and that you own it or act for the owner); and a statement that your complaint is accurate.

We review complaints quickly, may remove content or disable a voice while we check, and close the accounts of repeat infringers. If your content was removed and you think that was a mistake, you can reply and explain.

Suspension and closing your account

We may suspend or close your account, remove content, or limit features straight away if you break these Terms, if your use puts other people, the Service or us at legal or security risk, or if the law requires it. Where it's safe and lawful, we'll tell you why.

You can stop using Teddson at any time and delete your content or your account. When an account is deleted, we delete its content as described in the Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers

To the extent the law allows, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including that it is fit for a particular purpose, accurate, uninterrupted or free of errors. Some countries don't allow these exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, lost revenue, lost data or harm to reputation, or for content you create or publish. Our total liability for any claim about the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and 50 US dollars.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your rights as a consumer under the law where you live.

Your responsibility to us

If someone makes a claim against us because of content you uploaded or created, or because you broke these Terms or the law, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and losses that result, to the extent the law allows.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes go to the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your own courts. Please contact us first; most problems can be solved quickly.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as Teddson grows and as laws change. We'll post the new version here with its date and, for important changes, tell you by email or in the app before they take effect. If you keep using Teddson after that, the new Terms apply; if you don't agree, you can close your account.
